Role Overview
We are looking for experienced Android Automotive Platform Engineers to work on the development and integration of next-generation in-vehicle infotainment and centralized automotive systems.
The role spans the Android platform stack, from BSP, kernel, HAL, and framework services through applications and vehicle features, with opportunities to work on infotainment, connectivity, cybersecurity, system performance, and vehicle integration.
Key Responsibilities
Android Platform & AOSP

Customize and develop AOSP-based platforms for automotive applications, including both Google Automotive Services (GAS) and non-GAS environments.

Develop and integrate vehicle-oriented features such as navigation, climate control, telephony, and media.
-
Work across different layers of the Android platform, including BSP, kernel, device drivers, framework services, and applications.

Implement and integrate Android platform components using technologies such as AIDL and HAL.
-
Develop and integrate Vehicle HAL (VHAL) to enable communication between Android and vehicle systems.
-
Troubleshoot and optimize Android boot, build, and system integration processes.
Infotainment & System Integration
-
Contribute to the development and customization of automotive infotainment UI/UX.
-
Integrate Android framework components and third-party software into the target platform.
-
Perform system validation and certification testing using Android compliance frameworks such as CTS and VTS/xTS.
-
Configure and maintain SELinux policies for automotive Android platforms.
-
Collaborate with OEM partners and support platform certification requirements, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.
System Performance & Vehicle Platform

Monitor and improve overall Android system performance, stability, and resource utilization.
-
Support OTA update mechanisms and related platform management activities.

Work on centralized vehicle computing architectures, including digital clusters and Android platforms running on hypervisors such as QNX or ZEN, where applicable.

Collaborate with hardware, BSP, middleware, and vehicle integration teams to resolve platform-level issues.
Safety & Cybersecurity

Support development activities related to automotive cybersecurity and functional safety.
-
Apply relevant automotive standards and engineering methodologies, including ISO 21434, ISO 26262, and FMEA.

Contribute to security hardening and safety-related platform requirements throughout the software lifecycle.
Requirements
-
3–8+ years of professional experience in Android platform, embedded Android, or automotive software development.
-
Strong interest and passion for automotive technology and software development.
-
Solid programming skills in C/C++, Java, and Python.
-
Good understanding of embedded software development, including BSP, compilers, debugging, and low-level system analysis.

Experience with debugging tools such as Lauterbach and GDB.
-
Familiarity with Git/Gerrit, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
-
Good understanding of operating systems, RTOS, multithreading, and concurrency.
-
Knowledge of automotive development standards such as ISO 26262 and ISO 21434.

Familiarity with automotive communication and diagnostic tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, or Wireshark.

Understanding of communication technologies and protocols including TCP/UDP, CAN, LIN, SPI, and related interfaces.

Experience with automotive SoC platforms, particularly Qualcomm, NXP, or equivalent.

Experience with Android Automotive OS (AAOS).

Experience with OTA frameworks and automotive system updates.

Exposure to hypervisor-based automotive architectures, including QNX-based systems.

Experience with ADAS, Autonomous Driving, SOA, or Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV).

Familiarity with software architecture certifications such as iSAQB or relevant automotive/system engineering certifications.
