Our client is a Hong Kong-based IT development company delivering high-performance digital solutions to corporate clients across the APAC region. They are looking for a proactive Backend-Focused Engineer in Vietnam to work closely with their core development team in Hong Kong.

About the Role

You will collaborate with Hong Kong-based tech leads and developers to develop new features, build and maintain APIs, and provide ongoing production support. The role also involves leveraging modern AI-powered coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, and GitHub Copilot to improve development speed and productivity while maintaining code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Hong Kong development team to develop, refactor, and maintain backend applications based on technical requirements.
• Use AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, debugging, and feature delivery.
• Monitor production systems, investigate issues through logs and APM tools, and resolve incidents under team guidance.
• Review and validate AI-generated code and maintain unit/integration test coverage and coding standards.
• Participate in daily standups, async communication, and task management via Slack, Teams, Jira, or Linear.

Requirements

• 4–5 years of professional experience in backend or full-stack software development.
• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong backend development skills with Node.js/TypeScript, Python/FastAPI/Django, or similar technologies.
• Good knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
• Practical experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience troubleshooting production issues using logs and monitoring tools such as Sentry, Datadog, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Upper-intermediate to fluent English communication skills.
• Based in Vietnam and able to work in alignment with Hong Kong business hours.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of React, Next.js, or Vue.
• Previous experience working with international remote teams or IT outsourcing environments.
