🎯 Role Overview

We are looking for a Japanese-proficient leader to take ownership of our Hanoi-based engineering function and ensure seamless collaboration across multiple regions.

This role focuses on:

Taking charge of a sizable technical team, guiding delivery, performance, and team development
Acting as the main point of alignment between Vietnam, Singapore, and Japan offices
Bringing in new ways of building software, including the practical use of AI to improve workflows
Establishing a resilient and scalable team environment that supports long-term expansion

🚀 Key Responsibilities

Cross-border collaboration: Work with global engineering teams to align processes, standards, and technical direction
AI-driven development: Introduce and scale AI tools (e.g. code generation, automated testing, code review, CI/CD integration)
Delivery & execution: Translate business requirements into technical solutions and ensure high-quality, on-time delivery
Team leadership: Manage a team of ~50 engineers, including performance reviews, mentoring, and career development
Technical guidance: Support architecture decisions and resolve complex technical challenges
Hiring & culture building: Participate in recruitment and foster a strong engineering culture

✅ Requirements

10+ years of experience in software engineering
5+ years in leadership roles (Engineering Manager / Tech Lead)
Strong experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
English: Business level
Japanese: Fluent/native level (required for collaboration with global teams)

Experience applying AI in software development or knowledge of LLMs
Background in ERP or large-scale enterprise systems
Experience working with distributed or multinational teams
Exposure to Southeast Asia markets
