The Mission
We are looking for a Platform Lead to own and evolve the full infrastructure stack powering both our humanoid robotics fleet and our developer-facing AI platform. This is a senior technical leadership role sitting at the intersection of distributed systems, high-performance APIs, and production AI infrastructure. You will work directly with the founders to design systems that allow hundreds of robots to learn and act as one, while enabling global partners to build on top of our intelligent platform.

Our organization builds an open-source humanoid robotics platform, covering every layer from structural frames and electromechanical assemblies to firmware and AI. We also maintain a widely-adopted open-source AI assistant used by millions of developers worldwide. Our goal is to democratize advanced robotics and AI by sharing designs, models, and infrastructure with the global community.
What You’ll Do
- Architect & Scale: Build distributed systems handling petabytes of sensory, telemetry, and control data across cloud and edge environments, connecting robot fleets in real time.
- API Leadership: Design and build our API Platform, delivering high reliability and a world-class developer experience via intuitive APIs and SDKs.
- AI Foundations: Build large-scale training and inference platforms for multimodal foundation models powering robot autonomy and developer integrations.
- Data Pipelines: Design real-time ingestion and streaming pipelines for video, LiDAR, and joint states connecting robot fleets to the cloud.
- Reliability & Security: Manage a modern cloud-native stack (Kubernetes, Docker) while ensuring platform reliability through advanced monitoring, failover, and secure, fine-grained access control.
What You’ll Bring
- 7+ years of professional engineering experience with deep expertise in distributed systems or data platforms.
- System Mastery: Proven ability to operate production-grade systems handling massive scale and mission-critical workloads.
- Technical Toolkit: Proficiency in Go, Rust, C++, Python, or TypeScript, with strong fundamentals in concurrency and networking.
- Cloud Native DNA: Deep experience with Kubernetes, Helm, gRPC, Kafka, Ray, and service mesh technologies (Istio/Linkerd).
- Data & API Architecture: Strong understanding of databases (PostgreSQL, Redis, Vector DBs) and API design patterns (REST, gRPC, WebSockets, OAuth2).
