About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Backend Developer to join our early-stage venture on a full-time basis.

In this position, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining backend services, APIs, and deployment processes that power our global health-tech mobile platform.

What You’ll Do

• Make daily contributions to the codebase while maintaining a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and maintainability.

• Identify and solve real user-facing challenges, including designing and implementing large-scale software components, systems, and features.

• Develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously enhance backend services, particularly APIs supporting our native mobile applications.

• Independently manage project priorities, timelines, and deliverables.

• Investigate and resolve complex technical problems.

• Work closely with other engineers and contribute to the development of the team through technical knowledge sharing and mentorship.

• Help foster a strong culture of engineering quality, continuous improvement, and innovation across the organization.

What You’ll Need

• Strong hands-on experience in Node.js and/or Python, with primary focus on Node.js.

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.

• Excellent English communication skills, with professional-level fluency in both written and spoken English.

• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture.

• Experience with Python; exposure to LLM technologies such as Vertex AI or OpenAI API is a plus.

• Experience working with NoSQL databases and data modelling.

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP and Docker.

• Ability to conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to fellow developers.

• Experience in a fast-moving startup environment involving rapid iteration, continuous deployment, and test-driven development.

• A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership and get hands-on when needed.

• Strong bias toward action — you’re comfortable working in an environment with ambitious goals and are ready to contribute to getting things done.
