Role Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Software Test Engineer to validate automotive software at the feature and function level. The role covers the complete testing lifecycle, including test design, automation, execution, debugging, and reporting, with a strong focus on embedded C, AUTOSAR, and automotive communication technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Software Test Design

Review software requirements, architecture, design, and interfaces to identify testability gaps, including functional, safety, security, and compliance aspects.

Develop comprehensive test cases based on software requirements and the defined verification strategy.

Maintain clear traceability between software requirements, architecture, interfaces, and test specifications.

Apply appropriate test design methodologies to achieve effective software test coverage.

Define and work within suitable test environments, including SIL, HIL, and other simulation platforms.

Participate in requirement, test specification, and test result reviews.

Maintain and baseline test specifications in accordance with project configuration management processes.
Test Automation
-
Develop automated test scripts based on approved test specifications.
-
Build reusable test libraries and automation components to support efficient and maintainable testing.
-
Ensure automation scripts are readable, scalable, and maintainable by the wider engineering team.

Maintain consistency and traceability between automated test implementations and their corresponding test cases.

Support debugging activities and investigate issues encountered during automated test execution.

Review test scripts and address findings identified during technical reviews.
-
Manage and baseline automation assets according to project configuration management practices.
Test Execution & Reporting

Execute software tests through both manual and automated approaches.

Analyze test results, identify abnormal behavior, and document defects with appropriate technical information.

Prepare test reports and maintain relevant testing documentation.

Ensure testing activities comply with established engineering processes and quality standards.

Maintain traceability between test cases and their execution results.

Assess the impact of software changes or change requests on affected test cases and test reports.

Support the Team Architect in preparing test summary reports and evaluating residual risks associated with unresolved defects.
Requirements
-
2+ years of professional experience in embedded software testing, system testing, or a related automotive engineering role.

Practical experience with software testing within embedded/automotive environments.

Strong programming knowledge in Embedded C, C, and Python.

Good understanding of AUTOSAR architecture and automotive software concepts.

Experience working with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, UWB, NFC, and/or BLE.

Experience with JTAG, CAN Flash, and ECU flashing procedures/sequences.

Hands-on experience with automotive test and simulation tools such as:

Vector vVirtualTarget or equivalent virtual testing platforms

CANoe

ARXML and DBC formats

Embedded debugging tools

Understanding of software test processes, requirement traceability, and structured verification methodologies.

Strong analytical and debugging skills with a systematic approach to problem-solving.

Ability to work effectively with software developers, architects, and other engineering teams.
Nice to Have

Experience with SIL/HIL-based software testing.

Familiarity with AUTOSAR configuration and development workflows.

Experience developing reusable Python-based test automation frameworks.
