About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager, R&D Site Leader to establish and grow a high-performing engineering organization in Ho Chi Minh City.

In this role, you will lead teams building the core distributed systems behind a SaaS security platform that collects, processes, and analyzes large volumes of data across hundreds of SaaS environments.

This opportunity is well suited for an engineering leader who balances strong people management skills with sound technical judgment. You will be responsible for building teams, developing talent, influencing architecture, and helping define the culture, processes, and long-term success of the Vietnam R&D center.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and lead engineering teams responsible for mission-critical distributed systems that power the platform.

• Recruit exceptional engineering talent, including senior individual contributors and future engineering leaders.

• Provide technical leadership by contributing to architectural direction, reviewing key technical decisions, and maintaining sufficient technical depth to guide the organization effectively.

• Foster a culture centered on ownership, accountability, collaboration, and execution excellence while maintaining a sustainable pace for the team.

• Set clear performance expectations, deliver actionable feedback, and support career development across the organization.

• Partner closely with global engineering, product management, security research, and executive leadership teams to align priorities and deliver outcomes.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including at least 4 years leading engineering teams.

• Demonstrated success building teams from inception or scaling engineering organizations through significant growth phases.

• Strong track record of attracting, developing, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineers and future leaders.

• Deep technical expertise in designing, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems in production environments.

• Strong understanding of distributed systems principles, including consistency, availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and operational trade-offs.

• Strong proficiency in Python and Go. While this is primarily a leadership role, you should be comfortable reviewing code, evaluating technical designs, and participating in architecture discussions.

• Experience navigating complex leadership challenges, including organizational change, performance management, team dynamics, prioritization conflicts, and ambiguous business situations.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and executive audiences.

• Professional-level English communication skills.

Working Model

This position is based in Ho Chi Minh City and follows a primarily office-based working model during the early growth phase of the R&D center, with an expectation of at least three onsite days per week.

Regular in-person collaboration will help the founding team move quickly, strengthen technical alignment, build trust, and establish a strong engineering culture as the organization scales.
