Technology Lead

The Technology Lead acts as the crucial link between business objectives and technical execution, ensuring scalable and future-proof solutions. This role provides strategic guidance on technology stacks, roadmaps, and business development while fostering a high-performance engineering culture. By leveraging Lean and Agile principles, the Technology Lead optimizes workflows, mentors engineers, and maintains high coding standards. Their leadership ensures seamless collaboration, proactive risk management, and the on-time delivery of high-quality web applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical requirements gathering, use-case discovery, and platform analysis.

• Develop well-supported technology and architecture recommendations.

• Create and maintain software requirements specifications and architecture documentation.

• Act as the primary day-to-day technical point of contact for clients, third-party vendors, technology partners, and internal project stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Technology Directors to develop project estimates and overall implementation plans.

• Lead all solution implementation, customization, and integration activities.

• Establish and document best practices while contributing to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Identify and define integration points with third-party solutions.

• Define and document the tools and technologies required to implement the solution.

• Coordinate with vendor service teams on technology selection and implementation-related activities.

• Analyze technical problems by identifying root causes, evaluating possible solutions, and taking appropriate actions to resolve them.

• Prepare and present technical proposals to stakeholders at all levels of a client’s organization.

• Review vendor documentation and technical requirements to estimate the time and cost of different options accurately, enabling recommendations that align with business objectives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.

• Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, with an understanding of product management’s role across different development approaches.

• Experience with enterprise CMS platforms such as Contentful, AEM, or similar solutions.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise-level Next.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and React.

• A broad understanding of digital commerce, CRM, and loyalty programs is highly preferred but not mandatory.

• A strong focus on user-driven product design and data-driven product improvements.

• Understanding of user experience, technical considerations, and business challenges.

• Proven experience building scalable applications, implementing CI/CD, and managing common infrastructure.

• A strong appreciation for design and user experience.

• Ability to mentor and guide junior technical team members.

• Excellent time management, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

• Experience developing applications and websites for large multinational brands.

• A degree in Computer Science is preferred.

• Ability to lead the adoption of testing best practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and automated end-to-end testing. Familiarity with Test-Driven Development (TDD) is preferred.

• Ability to drive the adoption of coding best practices, code reviews, and performance-focused code optimization.
