Position: QA Lead

As a QA Lead, your mission is to foster a strong quality assurance mindset across the team. You’ll play a key role in interpreting both business goals and technical specifications to ensure that software products meet high standards before release. You will partner closely with UI/UX Designers, Product Owners, Developers, and other stakeholders to deeply understand project needs and translate them into structured testing activities. This includes crafting test strategies, building test plans, and recommending a smart balance between manual and automated test coverage.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead and guide a QA team of 10+ members, offering both technical direction and professional mentorship.

  • Take part in team growth through recruiting, onboarding, and assigning clear responsibilities to scale QA operations effectively.

  • Define and continuously improve test strategies for features, releases, and larger-scale projects.

  • Establish a strong team setup with well-defined roles and clear accountability.

  • Conduct regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews, encouraging career development and motivation.

  • Communicate test results, bug reports, and overall testing progress transparently to relevant teams.

  • Evaluate test outcomes and deliver detailed quality assessments with GO/NO GO decisions for each delivery.

  • Work closely with developers by supplying checklists or test cases for self-verification before builds reach the QA team.

  • Demonstrate a proactive and hands-on approach to solving problems and delivering outcomes.

  • Stay focused on execution and fast delivery while keeping quality in check.

  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation in testing practices and QA workflows.

What You Bring:

  • At least 3 years of proven leadership in QA, including managing a team of 10+ engineers and driving team improvements.

  • 8+ years of solid hands-on QA experience, covering both manual and automated testing across mobile, web, and backend/API systems.

  • Proficiency in setting up and maintaining automation frameworks using tools such as Appium, Playwright, and WebdriverIO.

  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and software lifecycle.

  • Ability to analyze both functional and non-functional requirements effectively.

  • Experience with bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira) and test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr).

  • A self-motivated mindset with the ability to work independently and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Openness to learning, adapting, and being coached to enhance performance and impact.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Collaborate actively with developers and product owners to plan test strategies, create manual test cases, and make informed release decisions.

  • Achieve a monthly test workload equivalent to 60–70 story points (1 point = 2 hours of QA effort).

  • Detect more than 5 valid and critical bugs each month.

  • Design and document 100+ manual test cases monthly.

  • Develop automated test scripts for stable features.

  • Deliver a minimum of 10 automated test cases per month.
