Core Responsibilities

Architect, implement, and support backend services that power core product functionality.
Develop resilient, high-performance server-side applications using Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, and relational databases.
Design backend solutions that are scalable, secure, and optimized for long-term growth.
Build and enhance distributed services deployed within a cloud-native infrastructure, primarily on Google Cloud Platform.
Deliver well-tested, production-ready code supported by unit, integration, and end-to-end validation practices.
Work collaboratively with frontend developers, product managers, and fellow engineers to translate product requirements into technical solutions.
Continuously improve platform reliability, performance, observability, and operational efficiency.
Diagnose production issues, resolve technical bottlenecks, and contribute to ongoing platform enhancements.
Lead backend feature development throughout the entire lifecycle—from technical design and implementation to deployment and continuous refinement.
Encourage clean architecture, maintainable codebases, and engineering standards that support sustainable product development.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of professional software engineering experience focused on backend development.
Proven expertise with Java, Spring Boot, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL in production environments.
Previous experience working in startup or high-growth organizations where adaptability and speed are essential.
Strong understanding of backend architecture, REST/GraphQL services, dependency injection, and the Spring ecosystem.
Experience designing and operating cloud-native applications and distributed systems.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and deploying services on cloud platforms, with Google Cloud Platform considered an advantage.
Ability to design systems with scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability in mind.
Strong sense of ownership, sound engineering judgment, and a practical approach to solving technical challenges.
Passion for building products that create meaningful value for customers, with a willingness to take initiative beyond assigned responsibilities.
Comfortable communicating and collaborating in an English-speaking workplace.
