Technical Skills Required

• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer or a similar role, with strong knowledge of modern DevOps practices and tools.
• Expertise in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD concepts and tools like Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD.
• Proficient in container technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Strong Linux/Unix administration, networking, and security knowledge.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, or Prometheus.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across teams.
• Familiarity with ITSM processes like Incident, Change, Problem, and Knowledge Base (KB) Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with development and operations teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions.
• Automate operational processes to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• Monitor systems and applications continuously, proactively addressing performance issues.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement best practices for code deployment, branching, and infrastructure management.
• Use containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes to optimize system efficiency.
• Keep systems documentation up-to-date, including architecture and processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive ongoing improvements and innovation.
• Work with container orchestration platforms like OpenShift.

Additional Skill Requirements:

• Hands-on experience managing batch jobs, including monitoring and taking corrective actions, with specific expertise in using Control M.
• Competence in system startup and shutdown procedures (IPL) and an understanding of disaster recovery backups.
• Experience resolving job failures, contentions, and managing space constraints in a batch processing environment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage job classifications in distributed systems.
• Strong skills in incident resolution and problem-solving, with a solid grasp of Service Level Agreement (SLA) management.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in both Japanese and English.
• Willingness to collaborate in a team setting and train both onshore and offshore teams.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Certifications related to DevOps, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
• Experience using infrastructure-as-code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Familiarity with Agile practices and experience working within Agile teams.
