We are a fast-growing global digital development and consulting company with offices across Australia, Vietnam, and India, specializing in ERP/CRM solutions for industries such as Automotive, Agriculture, Retail, and Manufacturing. We are looking for a Digital Project Manager – Trade Promotion Management (TPM) to work on-site in Tokyo, partnering directly with the client‘s team to deliver the TPM project in the Japan market.
This role plays a pivotal part in driving the successful deployment of new and enhanced trade promotion planning functions. This position is jointly responsible, together with the Project Business Lead, for ensuring the project delivers measurable business performance improvements through the effective rollout of business processes and digital applications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Digital delivery oversight: Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Japan TPM system on-site in Tokyo, and support adoption in the market.
- Cross-functional engagement: Partner across Business, Digital, and external application vendors to ensure the overall project plan is fully aligned and teams engaged.
- Progress reporting: Track and report project progress, milestones, and deliverables to local and regional project stakeholders, including regular updates to the Steering Committee on project progress, risks, and outcomes.
- Project planning: Develop and maintain a detailed end-to-end project plan, incorporating input from business stakeholders and application vendors.
- Financial management: Oversee budgeting and financial tracking for all digital components of the project.
- Resource and stakeholder management: Drive project delivery by coordinating resources and engaging business stakeholders effectively.
- Change management support: Collaborate with business workstreams to lead and support change management activities.
- Stakeholder engagement: Build strong partnerships across global digital teams, vendors, Japan sales teams, and external partners to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Capability implementation: Support the rollout of new TPM capabilities, tracking milestones across all stages of the project lifecycle.
- Business value delivery: Ensure the project achieves its business case objectives, including reducing manual offline processes by digitising sales promotion planning.
- Risk and issue management: Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating appropriately when required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor‘s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
- Certification in Project Management: PMP, CAPM, PRINCE2, AgilePM, or similar.
- 3+ years of experience in a program/project management role.
- Exposure to Sales/Trade Promotion Planning operations for a manufacturer (large FMCG preferred).
- Working knowledge of Trade Promotion Management software and how it interacts with downstream systems such as Demand Planning.
- Exceptional skills in leadership, time management, facilitation, and organisation.
- Experience in managing stakeholders.
- Outstanding knowledge of change management principles.
- Fluent in English and Japanese, minimum JLPT N2 level or above (required, given the on-site Tokyo assignment and direct engagement with Japanese teams and partners).
- Willing and able to work on-site in Tokyo, Japan for the duration of the project.
