About the Position

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-grade cloud data platforms for large-scale Banking and Telco transformation programs across ASEAN and Australia. This role covers the full lifecycle—from pre-sales architecture through implementation—ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. You will work closely with clients, hyperscalers, and partners to define and execute a modern Data & AI strategy.

Collaborate directly with hyperscalers (AWS, GCP, Azure), clients, and technology partners to co-design advanced solutions and reusable accelerators.

Deliver Industry-Defining Solutions
Lead the delivery of high-impact data platforms that enhance customer experience, operational resilience, and competitive positioning for large enterprises.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Requirements

Industry & Domain Expertise

Strong experience delivering large-scale, business-critical transformation programs in Banking (core banking modernization, AML, fraud analytics, risk and compliance) and Telecommunications (OSS/BSS, network analytics, customer experience platforms).
Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as PDPA, MAS TRM, APRA, GDPR, and their application in secure data architecture.

Cloud & Data Architecture

5+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms on AWS.
Proven expertise in data lakes, real-time and batch processing, analytics platforms, and ML-enabled architectures.
Strong background in hybrid and multi-cloud environments, distributed systems, and cloud modernization initiatives.
Deep hands-on knowledge of AWS services including S3, Redshift, Glue, EMR, Lambda, DynamoDB, and Athena.

Data Engineering & Governance

Strong understanding of enterprise data security, governance, lineage, quality management, metadata, and cataloging.
Ability to design and optimize scalable, high-performance, and cost-efficient data pipelines.
Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks and tools such as Glue, Kafka, Airflow, Lake Formation, and the Spark/Hadoop ecosystem.

Databases & Analytics

Advanced knowledge of MPP and NoSQL databases, data warehouse modeling, and BI/reporting architectures.
Strong expertise in SQL-based analytics on AWS platforms (Hive, Spark SQL, Athena, Redshift Spectrum).
Programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala for data processing, automation, and architectural tooling.

Leadership & Delivery

End-to-end ownership of solutions, from pre-sales activities (RFI/RFP, solution design, HLD/LLD, SOWs) through delivery and value realization.
Experience working closely with AWS engineering, support, and partner teams to jointly develop solutions.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to CxO-level audiences.
Proven experience leading and mentoring distributed teams across ASEAN and Australia.
Willingness to travel regionally for client and delivery engagements.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience integrating GenAI-ready data platforms, including vector databases, embeddings, and LLM tooling.
Exposure to multi-country projects across ASEAN and Australia, with sensitivity to local regulatory requirements.
Familiarity with Azure, GCP, or multi-hyperscaler solution design.
Thought leadership experience such as conference speaking, whitepapers, or open-source contributions.
Involvement in commercial initiatives, including GTM offerings, accelerators, and sales enablement.
Experience designing enterprise-grade disaster recovery and backup strategies for large data platforms.
