The Opportunity

The Software Development Engineer III is responsible for leading the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale software systems within enterprise AI programmes.

This role combines deep hands-on software engineering with technical leadership, solution design, mentoring, and close collaboration with client stakeholders. You will own critical technical workstreams, guide engineering teams, and help deliver secure, scalable, and production-ready systems.

Engineers are encouraged to leverage AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, testing, debugging, documentation, and overall software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, architecture, and delivery of large-scale applications, services, and platform components.
• Own technical workstreams and provide technical direction across projects or engineering teams.
• Produce high-level and low-level solution designs, architecture documentation, and technical specifications.
• Develop, deploy, and operate production workloads on AWS with a focus on scalability, security, resilience, and performance.
• Define engineering best practices covering CI/CD, automated testing, observability, DevSecOps, and production operations.
• Mentor engineers through technical reviews, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Work closely with architects, delivery managers, and client stakeholders to make key technical decisions.
• Investigate and resolve complex production, scalability, and performance issues.
• Develop reusable frameworks, engineering assets, and accelerators that improve delivery efficiency.
• Promote the effective use of AI-assisted development tools across engineering teams.

Requirements

• 6–10 years of experience building and delivering production-grade software systems.
• Strong programming experience in Python and/or other modern programming languages.
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex distributed systems from architecture through production deployment.
• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud services, including compute, networking, security, and data platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, observability, DevSecOps, and production support.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and leading technical initiatives.
• Comfortable working directly with enterprise clients and collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing and deploying large-scale systems in regulated or enterprise environments.
• Hands-on experience with AI applications, Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI frameworks, or enterprise data platforms.
• Experience introducing engineering standards, frameworks, or development tools adopted across multiple teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for different audiences.
• Experience working in enterprise consulting or technology delivery environments is an advantage.

Travel

Projects are delivered across Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand, and Japan. Travel or onsite engagement may be required depending on project needs. Relocation assistance may be available based on business requirements.
